Well, well, well…
It has finally happened. You guys pressured me for 2 years (TWO YEARS!) and I caved.
I’ve narrated and re-edited my classic sugar rose video tutorial for you 🙂 And honestly, it was my pleasure! I forget how much I love sugar flowers every so often, and this really got my sugar flower juices flowing! (no juice near your sugar paste. seriously. bad things happen, man.)
Watch the video below for a fully narrated, step-by-step sugar rose lesson. Grab a cuppa and nestle in!

Here’s a list of the tools I use as found on Amazon…
Rose Petal Veiner (Yes. The exact one in my video 🙂 )
Flower Rack (aka shelf organizer)
Make a Gumpaste Sugar Rose
Make your own sugar glue!
Like I mentioned in the video I use some CMC that I didn’t like using in recipes. I gave it a try. It’s didn’t work out for gumpaste, but it’ll do beautifully for my sugar glue!
I barely need any so I make super small batches in tiny glass jars meant to store paint from the local craft store. Little one ounce jars are the BOMB dot com guys. Get you some.
- 1/8 cup water
- 1/8 tsp – 1/4 tsp CMC or Tylose
Put your water in your resealable jar. add your tylose/CMC, close that baby up and shake like you’ve got some fries. 😉
You’ll want to let it rest in refrigeration over night for all the powder to hydrate and thicken the water. It will look chunky at first and you’ll be doubting me. It’s ok. I’m ready for it. Just trust me.
If you like thicker sugar glue, use more tylose. If you want it thinner, use less. Totally up to you.
