If you are a cake decorator that *might* have a business… You need this book.
And by *might* I mean you make cakes for people because they ask you to.
Or Aunt Martha says “Esther’s great granddaughter’s getting married next fall, I’ll tell her to call you for a cake!”
Or people at work know you make cake and suggest you to friends and family…
You have a cake business. But are you running it well and right? Are you making decisions that are not only in your business’s best interest but in YOURS as well? You matter! Your sanity matters! And protecting your love for cake by running your business smoothly is where most people get it wrong and burn out.
I’ve listened for a long time to cake decorators about where their pain is with caking. Not, not “That was away too much fondant to roll out and now my forearms are KILLING me!” kind of pain.
The kind that leaves you wondering if you even want to continue with your once obsessive passion. Where you’re burnt out wanting desperately to earn money (on the side or a full income) doing what you love and are passionate about - yet feeling like it’s sapping the life out of you emotionally, physically, and financially.
I know. The alumni in my Cake Success Mentor Series course at Pro Cake University have taken the cake bull by the horns and told it who’s boss. And a HUGE part of their awakening and growing confidence to assert themselves in business is this woman right here, Michelle Green.
She’s one of our incredible Mentors and her tell it like it is nature and straight forward, no holds barred honesty about success in our cake world is refreshing and eye opening. Murky situations seem clear through her eyes. I kinda just want her to sit on my shoulder in the kitchen and whisper in my ear when I get to be unreasonable.
Alas, her new book, “The Business of Baking”, will do till I can afford to move her up here from Australia.
If you don’t know Michelle yet, head over to her blog and check out her Facebook page to see all that she shares with the cake world.
Either way, just enter. What is there to lose? Maybe a little bit of cake crazies But don’t worry, we’ll replace it with sanity!

I believe you never stop learning your trade. It changes daily and this book sure would benefit any baker lucky enough to receive it, even a seasoned baker. I’m still learning things in this exciting trade and loving each time I master something I’m working on. Thank you for all your input and new challenges.

I am happy to buy your book - point me in the right direction please. I have had my own cake business for 2 years now, but still need to work 2 other jobs to supplement my cake business - I need all the help I can get.
Hi Carey! It’s not mine (though I might have something like that coming in the next few weeks… 😉 ) This one is Michelle Green’s from The buisness of Baking. You can get it here, you know… If you can’t wait. LOL! http://amzn.to/2a2dwfY
I really need this! I can no longer work due to damage to my spinal cord, but I still love to bake, and people ask for my cakes. This is something I can do from home at my own pace, and still feel I’m contributing to the family income.
If I don’t win, is this available via kindle?
Hi Debbie! It is available on Kindle. You can check it out here: http://amzn.to/2a2dwfY
I could not wait and just ordered mine….I also ordered some freeze dried fruits to test your fondants… Can’t wait……
Looks like a great read!
